Stellar Insights: February 3 - 9, 2020
As Megan Skinner and I share in this month’s So Divine! podcast, one of the star players for this month seems to be Venus (how synchronistic given it’s also a month that features Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day).
The connections that it makes with other planets reflect opportunities for more consciously exploring just what it is that we value and how it is that we claim our own value. The subject of valuing isn’t just something that’s philosophical but one that has everyday implications. After all. if a certain something or someone is important to us, we will carve out more time and dedicate more energy towards it/them. And the way in which we measure our self-worth will impact how we carry ourselves, what we ask for (and perhaps demand) in a relationship, and how we determine and define equality.
Venus is something that will again be on our minds quite clearly in May when it embarks upon its once-every-18-month retrograde cycle. Yet, in the here and now, and notably this week and next, the focus feels like getting connected to just what it is that holds us back from claiming our value. What are the stories that we tell ourselves that have us “justifying” our being lesser-than? What are the personal narratives we hold that tamp down our ability to claim that we are worth it? What experience/s occurred earlier in our lives that had us question our beauty, since which we’ve looked around in every corner of our life trying to find evidence to support the validity of the assumptions that we created since then?
The reason I’m focusing upon this is that as Venus moves into Aries this week, it begins to move towards a conjunction with Chiron. And while the connection isn’t exact until the early morning hours of next Monday (February 10), its invitation is quite strong leading up to that.
Be tender with yourself as you explore the ways in which you undervalue yourself while also seeing that if you look with objective eyes that you, like everyone else, is a treasure. Meet and greet what you realize, and then see if you can release some of the self-limiting beliefs that keep you from embracing the treasure you are.
Take some time to do some visualizations as to what your life would look like if you were to move through your life (or even a certain situation) more fully embracing the richness that you are. See how it would shift things, whether in a relationship, related to your work or artistic pursuits, with your connection with your money, etc. And then try it on; engage yourself in (at least) one situation in which you shine forth in this way.
Not only may you feel a greater sense of liberation, but by touching into your Ouch spots you may find yourself more readily able to hold a space of compassion for others who have had similar paths. And with that we can not only regale ourselves but come together with others so that we can all shine more freely and more brightly, not only for ourselves but also in service to the world around us. The timing of this feels so powerfully supportive as well given that Sunday we have the Leo Full Moon, which encourages us to radiate our hearts as we come together with others who share our visions and our values.
