September 24, 2018: Aries Full Moon

What do I want in a relationship? What actions do I feel drawn to take to further having partnerships that serve my best interest? What am I willing to fight for when it comes to deriving the highest value from my social and romantic connections? These are some of the questions that may arise for us during the time of the Aries Full Moon. With the Moon in passionate, self-initiated Aries and the Sun in social, striving-for-balance Libra, we could likely find ourselves mobilized to wage battles to find a greater sense of peace and harmony in our relationship life.

Additionally, we may find ourselves striving for more peace and harmony in our inner and outer worlds. Our attention may also be turning to such questions as: What would it take to have more grace and pleasure in my life? How do I define beauty and how can I bring it more into my life? What is my individual style and how can I express it more? What are my primary values, those that I would be willing to go into battle for?

This Full Moon makes numerous celestial connections that add further levels of inspiration to this time.

The Moon conjoins Chiron and with this we may find that old wounds, even those oft buried, feel like they reside more on the surface. We may find ourselves wondering about our will, and whether we’ve been fully able to channel and be fueled by it. Given that Hygeia is uniting with Chiron and the Moon as well, we may more strongly feel that dealing with injuries to our sense of agency and better understanding what it takes to give ourselves permission to act on our own behalf seems directly tied into our sense of well-being.

The Sun and the Moon (and also Chiron and Hygeia) are squared by Saturn, itself anchored in union with Vesta. Saturn brings things to fruition and casts structure, usually through a process of limitation. We see things with Saturn, things we can no longer avoid and cast a blind eye to. Reflecting this, it seems like this Full Moon really brings things to our attention, and may illuminate the places that we need to more realistically invest our energy and focus if we want things to more fully manifest and flourish. While that may sound productive, the pathway to this awareness, of course, could be sobering, as we see what’s not working, and the work that’s required to have it be in alignment.

With the asteroid Vesta also being prominent, it may raise the bar when it comes to prioritizing those things to which we are utterly devoted. As Vesta represents dedication of serving and the tending of the sacred flame, how we attend to—and possibly even sacrifice for—family and the community may catch our attention. Additionally, Vesta represents soulful sexuality and with that, how we approach sex and sensuality may be something which is under review for us at this time.

This Full Moon occurs at 2 Libra (Sun) and 16 Aries (Moon). While most people will feel shifts with this lunar event, those with planets or points (Ascendant, Descendent, Nadir, and/or Midheaven) near these degrees in these signs or the other two cardinal signs—Cancer and Capricorn—may feel it more personally.
