Hello New! Hello Moon! Hello New Moon!

Tuesday boasts a Leo New Moon, which may provide us not only with the urge to shine, but also the opportunity to do so. And, given that this lunation features the Sun and Moon sidling up to messenger Mercury, it’s a time when big and bold proclamations may want to be made (hence….Hello New! Hello Moon! Hello New Moon!). There’s an ebullient child-like energy that draws forth the playful and creative self that resides within us, as we feel called to express ourselves to the world. Yet, while there’s great encouragement to do so, it’s not necessarily at all costs or in a no-holds-barred way; after all, Leo is the sign of dignity and self-respect, and with that a lot of energy is spent maintaining one’s stature and pride: embarrassment is not something we’re willing to risk.

This feels even more pronounced given that both the Sun and Moon, as well as Mercury, make a tricky quincunx (150 degree alignment) with be-conservative and uphold-the-structures Saturn. And with this, tension may emerge as we try to honor our need to be ourselves as well as both our legacy and reputation, as well as that of institutions with which we may align.

Perhaps this image is one way we can try to resolve the tension that underlines trying to integrate the relationship between the Sun, Moon, and Mercury in radiant Leo and Saturn in play-by-the-books Saturn….

You have an urge to paint a new picture and instead of finding yourself with a blank canvas, you have a choose of several, each of which resembling a page from a children’s coloring book. You can choose which image you want to paint, which one you want to add your dynamic flair to. You are offered a wide range of colors from which you can choose, selecting those that match your ingenue and reflect the vivacity and luminosity that makes you who you are. Yet, as you introduce the colors to the canvas you must do so in a deliberate manner, making sure to only color within the lines.

This weekend Leo Season gives way to Virgo Season. And with that we further invite in the honoring of organization, methodology, and impeccability. Following on our analogy, in Virgo Season there is a reverence for the precision that arises from coloring inside the lines, experienced at the same time as we discern whether we think that the lines are drawn properly, efficiently, and are in the very best place they can be.
