Stellar Insights: December 6 - 12, 2021

This week Venus and Pluto unite and with that we may find ourselves compelled to look at our deepest values. This is no time to skim the surface. Rather the invitation is to plunge deep and see what really matters to you. It may also call for pulling back the covers on relationship dynamics that we’ve ignored; after all, try as we may want to avoid the nagging issues underlying our alliances, it’s as if the churning we’re feeling just won’t let us cast a blind eye anymore.

That doesn’t mean, though, that things need to blow up or fully break down. Rather, take an honest look at what may be underlying any upset or dissatisfaction you feel. Allow yourself to begin to voice (even if just to yourself) what isn’t working for you and what may seem broken, whether because of just keeping on keeping on with dynamics that are less than satisfying or because of an incompatibility (that may or may not be able to be resolved). Make space for this. Even before considering sharing your feelings with the person with whom you’re in alliance, opening to what you’re truly feeling itself will shift the scenario. Then see whether the timing feels right to begin broaching any issues. Depending upon the situation, you likely want to do this very gently, and compassionately; after all with Venus/Pluto there’s the possibility of great defensiveness, which could cause us—including the person with whom you may be speaking—to want to burrow in deeper and hide.

It’s not just our relationships with others that the Venus/Pluto Conjunction may have us looking at, but also our relationship with what we value. Instead of just accepting it in a status quo fashion, we may want to get underneath our motivation and ask ourselves Does this really have value? Is this worth the cost (whether time/money/energy/etc.)? and Does this really enrich my life?

Part of what we’re also primed to look at is our finances. If you’ve been playing the ostrich, burying your head in the sand, with money matters, it’s a good time to curtail that orientation and take a look at this realm of your life. Seeing is the first step in making changes, which can’t but help us feel more empowered and at ease.

Now, remember that because of Venus’ upcoming retrograde cycle (12/19 – 1/29), Venus and Pluto will have two reunions after this (on December 25 and March 3). And so what you may connect with now may be part of a multi-month experience of unearthing what’s really important to you, how to stand for your value, how to make your life feel more rich with meaning, and how to recalibrate relationship dynamics so that they bring your more joy. Also notable this week, we’ve got Neptune in the mix, making a square to messenger Mercury on Tuesday and the Sun on Sunday. There’s an invitation to let something dissolve, likely a way of orienting that is overly rigid or judgmental. Go with the flow, invite in forgiveness, take siestas, and let yourself rendezvous with the muse more than you usually do.
