Stellar Insights: November 29 - December 5, 2021

Liminality. That’s my word for the week.

There’s a sense of feeling betwixt and between. Not still where we were but also not where we will be. And with that, this in-flux sense may have us feel a bit untethered. After all, if we’re in flow—leaving behind what was and not yet rooted to what will be—being infused by a sense of wispiness makes sense. Additionally, the feeling that we’re on a threshold of sorts can be both inspiring and confusing.

Why this liminality? For three reasons, actually.

1/ We’re in the midst of the Eclipses. The Lunar Eclipse was November 19 and the Solar Eclipse will occur later this week on December 4. As you know, eclipses may yield life-shifting awareness and events, and yet where they may be leading us still feels obscured. We’re moving towards something new—we’re just not completely certain what that will look like.

2/ Remember that the Solar Eclipse is also a New Moon and that for three-plus days before this monthly lunation, we’re in the Balsamic Moon lunar phase. The Moon is dark and it’s getting darker. It’s a time of release and renewal. We feel called to retreat and go within for inner illumination. It’s a time of closure and when we passively let the realization we’ve had since the last New Moon (November 4) permeate our awareness. We’re letting things go and yet the new has not yet arrived.

3/ This week, dreamy Neptune stations direct. The days before and after a planet appears to shift direction (coming into or out of its retrograde phase), the realms with which it is associated appear quite strong in the collective. Given it’s Neptune, we’re then talking about themes such as compassion, lack of resistance, blurred boundaries, the intermingling of worlds, imaginative inspirations, and synchronicities and other awareness that remind us that everything is connected. Neptune is also very threshold-inspiring; after all, if we’re flowing in the stream of awareness, able to tap into insights that may feel seemingly distant in time and space, then we may feel we’re steeped in the liminal.

Do what you can to invite in allowance. See where you want to flow, what inspires you and what depletes you, and see if you can arrange your days to honor this. If you’re feeling a bit exhausted and/or flooded with emotions, you’re not alone. Do what you can to take the best care of yourself during this shape-shifting liminal time.

When the Solar Eclipse arrives, it does so with the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius. This sparks a new chapter related to wanting to explore distant lands, whether through traveling there or engaging in discussions that can help you tap into greater awareness. These distant lands may be actual places and yet they can also be large-scale concepts that afford a broader perspective on life; as such, a Sagittarius Solar Eclipse may also invite us to take on a more philosophical or spiritual orientation. Additionally, it’s a time when we listen in deeply to see where we want to aim our new intentions, envisioning new horizons and goals we’d like to achieve. Again, remember that things may not seem crystal clear—see what moves, touches, and inspires you to gain insight into what’s coming alive for you at the moment.
