Stellar Insights: November 26 - December 2, 2018

I was having a hard time starting this article. I just didn’t know where I wanted to go with it, as the sky seemed the limit in terms of trying to explain the current astrology, which itself felt resonant with the current astrology. After all, we have the triple conjunction of the Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter, all in expansive-horizons Sagittarius. Jupiter, in and of itself, always seems to expand things and make them larger and so it felt like there were an inordinate amount of possibilities (Jupiter) when it came to trying to capture the essence (Sun) of this moment in words (Mercury). And the feeling of limitlessness seemed to stop me in my tracks.
That is, until I looked out on the porch and saw a big box with the words AWAY printed on it. It turned out to be my new suitcase that I had ordered last week (I had my eye on this suitcase for a while but after seeing that they announced a new color palette dedicated to the celestial realm, I couldn’t help but finally order one). I laughed that it had arrived today—how perfectly Sagittarius, a carrier (Mercury) that will aid me as I go on my next journeys (Jupiter). So with AWAY in my sights, I thought that this would be a great place to begin writing about this week.
Where is your away, where is it that you want to go? What sights do you want to see? What understanding do you want to gather? How can you build more adventure in your life? What concepts do you want to explore? What’s on your horizon when it comes to quests that you want to take? And what do you need to be able to do these things—what information, resources, alliances?
Remember that when it comes to Sagittarius and the notion of travel that it’s not limited to the kind you do when you get on a plane, train, or automobile. Rather, it includes activities that expand your understanding and help connect you to meaning from a wider perspective. With that, it may be that your destination is to learn something new, or to publish your insights, or to educate yourself and/or others about things that ignite your spirit.
Aim your arrow on this pursuit, on these reflections, notably early in the week as the Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter do their unique fire dance together.
Speaking of getting more perspective and understanding, this week may offer it in droves related to insights about what we value, find rich, and how—and which—relationships can be carriers of treasures.
That’s because later this week, Venus stands in opposition to pattern-changing Uranus. Expect the unexpected, be amenable to the out-of-the-blues, and maintain some flexibility calendar-wise so you can be open to spur-of-the-moment plans. Venus/Uranus also inspires us to claim a sense of individuality when it comes to what we value, what holds true treasure for us. Stepping out of line with others in terms of standing for what has us feel aligned with our values may seem unsettling, and yet it allows us to be more true to ourselves in how we define and divine our lives (plus, sometimes being a role model for individuality also gives others the permission that they were seeking to be able to more confidently claim their own path).
If the Venus/Uranus Opposition sounds familiar to you, it’s for a good reason. Given Venus’ recent retrograde cycle, these two planets found themselves in this alignment three times in the recent months: initially on September 12, then on October 31, and now upcoming on Friday, November 30. As such, what you may find this week related to redefining what has value to you and what relationships provide you with richness may not necessarily be something that seems to just emerge in the coming days but something that may feel like it’s the synthesis and evolution of realms that have captured your attention since September.
Speaking of September, there’s another Venus-related event this week that may have you feel like you’re in a déjà vu. That being that Venus, after her recent retracing-of-her-steps in Libra is finally moving back into Scorpio, the sign she entered in September. And with that, we could find ourselves rediscovering the terrain that we’ve recently covered, the landscape that had us dig deep down and uncover the buried treasures in ourselves and in our lives. We may find ourselves re-connecting to our desires, passion, and generativity in an even more concentrated way, all the while further understanding the role, if any, of jealousy, envy, and secret-keeping in our lives. Our traveling into the underground layers of our mind, heart, and soul is further enhanced given that Mercury, itself in its retrograde cycle, dives back into Scorpio on Saturday.
I feel like this week can give us further insights into how we can bridge the above and below, the heights and the depths, the fire and the water, and our visions and our desires, as reflected by the prominence of the Sagittarius and Scorpio energies that bookend these seven days.
