Moving During Mars Retrograde

During the current Mars Retrograde, we can get insights into the way in which we move, how we propel ourselves from point A to point B. Yet, these insights, if we’re not careful, may come through accidents or mishaps if the way we move isn’t as efficient, productive or mindful as possible.

I share this with you out of first-hand experience. I’ve noticed in the past days that sometimes I rush and move through space without being mindful of my surroundings. Today carried lots of lessons in this realm. It started with breaking a glass in the sink, which, although jarring, was not quite a match for my last experience: as I bent over to move my altar/bookcase with my husband, I was rushing so much that I ‘forgot’ that a feature of the altar was an incense stick sticking straight upward. I remembered that when it poked the corner of my eye. Suffice it to say I was lucky that it didn’t hit the center of my eye, but it left me upset, mad, and frustrated with myself for not paying attention (let alone my eye irritated).

And then I realized….aha, this is a great Mars Retrograde lesson: that I need to pay more attention to the way I move, and take my own advice (ha!) to move slowly and thoughtfully during Mars Retrograde. It also felt like a great Mars Retrograde lesson as during this time we can get insights into how we deal with frustration, how we react to it.

I’m not trying to Pollyanna my experience and the slight discomfort I have in my eye now (I think I’ll be fine), but I am sharing this with you so that you may 1/ see how we can learn about how we move during Mars Retrograde and 2/ to inspire you to be more thoughtful with your movements so that you don’t experience any hurts or mishaps.

Oh, and why this photo? I loved the expression of this person moving through space, as it inspired curiosity to me as to whether s/he was moving fast or moving slow. And I loved the message behind, declaring “WAIT” and the focus of the eyes and tears being shed - I am going to try to especially remember this background as I move around, going slow, and invoking the “WAIT” when it is necessary/appropriate/beneficial.

May your movements be a source of insight to you during Mars Retrograde (without causing you any discomfort, pain or frustration).
