We often say “out of sight, out of mind” – yet this week, we’re again reminded that this is not necessarily true.

There’s a sense that what’s been hidden from us—either by others or ourselves—just can’t be ignored. And even if we can’t fully see the truth, and what’s being shrouded from view, we sense that something is. We can feel it. And as such, we can’t deny its existence.

It feels important to really dig in and dig under, in any of the realms you can control, to understand why it is that you do what it is you do. Survey your actions. Take stock of your desires. Reflect upon your aims. Consider your frustrations. Yet instead of just accepting them on the surface, go underneath them to further understand what resides at their core. What is actually motivating me to push forward with this goal? Why is it that I respond to (person’s name) in such a defensive way? What is it about (person’s name) that inflames my passions? What is it about (a certain situation) that really makes me angry and/or filled with rage?

Knowing what’s underneath our motivations and reactions when it comes to pursuits, frustrations, and acts of will can raelly serve us this week. It can not only bring us more clarity and understanding but may sidestep an otherwise explosive reaction we may have that we could later regret.

I share this notably because of the Mars/Pluto Square that is again at the centerpiece of the kairos (it was also exact August 13 and will be so again on December 23).

As power struggles stream and people assert themselves in trying to wrest control—other Mars/Pluto themes—we may find the collective mood feels somber or even stygian. We could feel that the the things we’re seeing, which can’t be unseen, are so dark that it’s as if we can’t believe them nor do we necessarily at first know how to process them. Yet, instead of discounting what we know to be true because we can’t truly accept that they are true, find the courage to just be with it, knowing that giving the darkness light, exposing things rather than continuing to bury them, is what can lead to healing. This too feels like an invitation from Mars, the warrior planet, and Pluto, the planet that reminds us of the power of endurance and transformation. Find the brave spirit that lives deep within you.

This way we’ll embody the knowledge that instead of “out of sign, out of mind” that things being in our sight, allows them to be in our minds, where we can then deconstruct and reconstruct them so that they are more in alignment with our core values and principles.
