Stellar Insights: October 25 - 31, 2021
Last week was quite something – talk about explosive energy. My personal experience of that has been being out on the Washington Coast and riding out the bomb cyclone on my own (thankfully, it turned out that all for me is fine…my heart is with those, notably in California, who experienced severe overturned lands and flooding).
My experience—which I feel aligns with the energy of last week’s Mars/Pluto Square and then the Sun moving into Scorpio—had me stricken with deep fear for many moments, the concern for loss, for survival, for destruction of property. Of course, all of those fears are just—and as we continue to experience more severe weather patterns owing to climate change, we may experience more challenging situations.
The experience has made me more resilient, notably too in terms of my witnessing how I responded. I went into a different facet of Mars/Pluto mode – notably, greeting and giving light to my fears and being honest about them as I shared them with friends. And then, after preparing as much as I could (got an extra phone battery pack, bought water, parked car in safest spot, put food in an ice cooler, etc.) I just surrendered to what would be; realizing I did all I could, I connected to a space of deep resourcefulness and that the rest was out of my control. Something released for me in that moment and I was really calm throughout the whole of the anything-but-calm storm last night. The worst of the winds are supposedly behind us here, and while thankfully none of the trees were uprooted what were some fears that were holding me back, which then led to the discovery of a new way of orienting that has given me more strength and ease.
I share this with you, not so much to tell you about me, but as one lived example experience of the dig-deep, uproot-that-which-isn’t-solid-at-the-surface, connect-to-the-notion-of-life/death Mars/Pluto Square. If you were challenged or shaken to your core, I hope that things are settling again for you and that some gift of life-shifting awareness remains.
And while the aftermath of the last stormy days may continue, let’s also now look at a few planetary actions for this week.
Tuesday’s Venus/Neptune Square may have us longing for a love that’s not immediately close by. Relationship issues may seem unclear or we may experience a fog when it comes to knowing what would bring us pleasure in the moment. Watch for disappointments arising should you have had overly ideal expectations. That said, it’s a great moment to send love to someone from afar and to tune into the magic and inspiration offered by art.
On Saturday, Mars dives into Scorpio, a sign in which the planet of willpower is all too happy to reside (Mars is Scorpio’s traditional planetary ruler while Pluto is its modern-day one). It will dig its way through Scorpio for a while, through December 13. During this time, we may find ourselves called to explore deeper subjects, desiring to discover what it meaningful. Our BS radar is on high alert and we may find ourselves with less tolerance for the superficial.
Mars is Scorpio can have a clenching energy, in which it seems like we are holding onto something (or someone) for dear life, not wanting to let go. This is mirrored with a willpower rife with endurance. And yet, just as much as we feel we have the strength to never let go of our grip, should we realize that the object of our desire isn’t safe or will actually threaten us somehow, we find ourselves able to release with as much force as we clung. After all, it’s often very all or nothing when it comes to Scorpio.
Take this time to dive into the mysteries, uncover what you truly desire, and discover a passion and tenacity that you may not remember feeling in a while.
