Stellar Insights: December 2 - 8, 2019
Every so often—well, at least about once each year—one of the social or collective planets shifts signs, and with that we enter an extended time period in which may find that certain themes and realms of life are highlighted.
It turns out that that happens this week. On Monday, in fact.
The week begins with expansive Jupiter trekking from Sagittarius into Capricorn, the sign that it will reside in through December 19 of next year.
Although Sagittarius likes to look forward, before we begin talking about what the next year may pose, let’s take a moment to look back on what we’ve learned since last November 8 while Jupiter was in a sign that it governs, in its home turf of Sagittarius.
Reflect upon what you’ve learned since last year related to such themes as how travel expands your sense of what’s possible, the ways in which you’ve broadened your world, how you’re coming to decipher what truth means, the avenues through which you’ve pursued spiritual or philosophical understanding, and the tools you’ve gathered that have enabled you to understand life—and your life—from a wider perspective.
Also, reflect upon how this year you found ways to inspire yourself with optimism and possibility, even during times that may have seemed dark or challenging. Connecting to this, and weaving it within the fabric of your perspective, feels important and something that will have great value as we aim our sites upon next year, so that we can have as clear a 2020 vision as we can.
OK, now let’s continue to look ahead, beginning to get a sense of what Jupiter in Capricorn may portend.
For efficiency’s sake (something that Capricorn reveres), I decided to address Jupiter’s residence in this sign in a more defined way (something Capricorn also likes) and have created a dedicated post about it. You can read that here.
As for the rest of the week, one of the hallmarks is that on Saturday, December 7, Mercury leaves the shadow zone of its most recent retrograde cycle, which occurred October 31 through November 20. What’s the shadow zone?
During its retrograde journey, Mercury travels through a particular part of the zodiac. In the most recent one, that was 12 to 28 Scorpio. Before Mercury appears to shift backwards, it traveled through this arena in forward motion (October 11 through 31) and is doing so since the retrograde stage ended (November 20 through December 7).
So on December 7, it begins to enter newly traversed territory. Yet before that, it’s still revisiting the landscape that it already covered, and which we have covered. As such, the opportunity for this week is to look back to mid-October and see what realms of understanding you’ve been focusing upon, which you may have received great (although possibly hard-won) lessons on. See if synthesis is available that allows you to further forge a foundation in terms of how you’ve been able to find a new capacity and depth when it comes to being able to access honesty, unearth and reveal your true feelings, and appreciate how powerful and transformative your ability to communicate can be.
