Stellar Insights: November 30 - December 6, 2020
The week begins with a Gemini Lunar Eclipse.
Even if we can’t see an Eclipse in the sky, these celestial events are potent harbingers of illumination in our lives. During the weeks around a Lunar Eclipse, it may seem as if things are coming to fruition as we may be sensing that we are experiencing the outcome of steps previously taken. That said, given that it’s an Eclipse, we may sense that there is a sea change occurring while at the same time not necessarily clear about the detailed direction that it is taking us. Over the coming weeks, the pathway should become more evident as the haze of the Eclipse’s eclipsing recedes.
With a Gemini Lunar Eclipse we may feel ourselves caught in a push-pull between stepping back to gain perspective and focusing in on the facts that make up the whole picture. Striking a balance is important: Remember not to lose the forest for the trees, and yet don’t forsake the trees for the forest either, as both are equally important.
If we can find a way to integrate the energies calling for our attention, we can experience a significant opportunity for wisdom and learning. As we quest to become aware of the bigger picture, it’s important to remember to tap into information that can promote our greater understanding, rather than just taking off from a launch pad of vision and beliefs.
Synthesis is one of the clarion calls of this Lunar Eclipse given that Gemini—the sign in which the Moon resides—calls us to hold duality. Instead of opting for a singular perspective—whether this one or that one—see if there’s a larger framework that allows you to honor both and thread them together. For example, on Thanksgiving I found myself connecting not only to gratitude but to grief; giving myself permission to feel both, stream between them, and even see how they were connected felt like an invitation of this Lunar Eclipse. See my Instagram post for more reflections on this.
This Lunar Eclipse falls at 9 degrees of Gemini (Moon) and Sagittarius (Sun). While everyone experiences the energies of this lunation, if you have planets or pivotal points (i.e., Ascendant/Descendant or Nadir/Midheaven) around this degree in Gemini, Sagittarius, or the other mutable signs—Virgo or Pisces—it may impact you more intensely.
