Every week for the past couple of years, I’ve posted the weekly Stellar Insights on Mondays.

And yet, just as I was preparing to go to sleep last night, I realized that I had forgotten to do so. I must admit that I was sort of shocked; it felt strange as I never forget to do it (well, never say never now).

I also laughed and thought…can I just ‘blame’ it on Mercury in Pisces just having shifted retrograde? After all, wires do get crossed during this period, and when the planet of communication is in this quite dreamy sign, we may find ourselves more apt to have our thoughts drift and feel a greater sense of diffusion.

It also makes complete Mercury-retrograde-in-Pisces sense to me, in retrograde retrospect, that I forgot. (I share these reasons not to make excuses but just to share my own personal retrograde experiences in case they help in some way to give reflection to your own.)

Between the time (yesterday morning) that I made note to myself to write the Stellar Insights later in the day and the time I intended to do so (yesterday afternoon), I had some very Mercury-retrograde-in-Pisces work experiences, including two sessions with clients who I haven’t worked with for a couple of (retrograde = return) who has planets in Pisces, which were a big part of the focus on what we spoke about given the current Mercury retrograde.

And on top of that, and actually between those two sessions, I had another quite Mercury-in-Pisces-retrograde experience….that of going to the beach with my little stepdaughter (who happens to have Mars in Pisces), walking along the water, while also singing her new favorite song (which I kid you not, in pure Pisces fashion, is called Swimmers. It’s so dreamy that I thought to include to share it with you here.)

Later on when I realized that I forgot to write the Stellar Insights, and I reflected back to what had transpired, I realized that I had forgotten because I had sort of gotten lost. I was so steeped in experiences that were flowing, imaginative, poetic, and which just invoked a surrender of my rational “to do” mind that what was on my “to do” list experienced an undertow that took it out to the proverbial sea and out of my ability to see it. (Dunn enough it wasn’t until I was about to go to sleep and dream—a Piscean activity in and of itself—that I remembered that I had forgotten.)

I now have another lived experience of Mercury retrograde, that has helped me to understand how it is that planned communications sometimes go awry. I hope that this helps you in some way to give context to any experiences you may have during this period. Mercury will be retrograde until March 9, spending most of its time in Pisces (except for March 4 through 9 when it’s in Aquarius).

During the retrograde phase of Mercury, we often look back (= retrograde) to find treasures that will help us to synthesize understanding. Yet now that we’ve done that, let’s look forward.

Speaking of Pisces, the Sun shifts into this dreamy and boundless sign on Tuesday. Pisces Season then goes through March 19, and is a month when we may find ourselves tuning in to the waves of compassion, artistry, and the numinous. It’s a time when we may find ourselves tapping into a deep well of love and a desire to connect soulfully with others. Yet, while there is beauty in feeling that we are more connected with others than we had previously felt, it is important to maintain a sense of separation on some level, so as to avoid the merging, self-surrender, and enabling that often feels close at hand during this time.

With the two planets that rule Pisces—Jupiter and Neptune—forming a sweet connection on Thursday, our ability to feel a greater sense of potentiality by realizing that there is a thread that runs through everyone and everything may feel quite potent.

Also this week, as Mars connects to both Uranus and Chiron, we could find ourselves wanting to pursue a goal using a strategy that is different than usual. There’s a sense of freedom we can tap into if we give ourselves the space to redefine just what it is that lights us up and what we want to champion. We may be able to find further clarity into what motivates us by reflecting upon past experiences in which we felt there was a limit to our ability to be effectual. Seeing how insecurities that arose then inform the way in which we persevere now may be something about which we can gain more awareness. In doing so, we may also further understand the ways in which we can fight for those who may benefit from well-tred insights that are deeply ingrained within us.

Oh, one last note, circling back to Mercury Retrograde.
