Libra Full Moon: April 7, 2020

The Libra Full Moon that occurs on Tuesday, features the Moon in Libra and the Sun in Aries. This yearly lunar event calls upon us to integrate our desires with those of the people with whom we are in relationship. It can help us gain insight into whether our approach to accommodating our needs and those of others is a balanced one or whether the scale is tipped to one side. For example, do we over-accommodate others to the detriment of own needs, or vice versa?

Each year this is the focus of this time, and yet with our environment being so different right now, the way that relationships are expressed is also so different. In true Libra fashion, our relationships are being recalibrated right now and we may gain more awareness about this this week.

For example, with social distancing orders in place, we’re not doing things as we did: we’re not meeting up with friends for a drink, going on a date with someone we just met, inviting loved ones over for dinner (or even a Passover seder) etc. For some, they may find themselves sharing space with their partner or roommates in such a concentrated way that it invariably brings new awareness to the surface. All the while, we’re connecting to new stresses and concerns that we may not have ever experienced before and looking to our relationships for support and sounding boards. The Full Moon may illuminate insights into the underpinnings that make up the foundation of some of our relationships now that we’re in this new terrain that has cast us out of our go-to dynamics and patterns. These insights may delight us or upset us (if the latter, try to maintain a steady state and not be taken into a swirl of additional stress).

With Libra having an affinity for justice and Aries reflecting the energy of the willful warrior, we may find ourselves or others catalyzed to jump into the fray when we encounter situations that are not fair and equitable. Tap into any anger or ire that emerges, and instead of letting it burn you up, channel it in ways that can initiate a change—whether in your immediate environment or the world at large—that will light you up.

Also, don’t forget that Libra is a sign that reflects beauty and grace. As such, see what comes to light when it comes to ways that you may want to amplify the aesthetics of your environment so that it can give you more delight, and in that more comfort.

This month’s Full Moon falls at 19 degrees of Aries (Sun) and Libra (Moon). While everyone experiences the energies of a Full Moon, if you have planets or pivotal points (i.e., Ascendant/Descendant or Nadir/Midheaven) around this degree in Aries, Libra, or the other cardinal signs—Cancer and Capricorn—it may impact you more intensely.
