Stellar Insights: January 25 - 31, 2021
Shake it up!
The week may begin with some surprises, so be open to expecting the unexpected. In fact, it’s a great time to surprise yourself; break out of routines, take a detour, and approach something from a different angle. Shaking things up may help shake things out, leaving us with the feeling of inspiration that comes when we sense things are fresh and new.
The Leo Full Moon, occurring on Thursday, illuminates the sky and our hearts and minds. With the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo, we’re focused on tapping into our creativity and the way we can make a unique contribution to the world around us.
Yet, this isn’t your garden-variety Leo Full Moon since the day it occurs is the same day as the yearly Sun/Jupiter Conjunction. There’s a strong sense that we’re called to our calling; that we want to learn and grow in ways that allow us to be a global citizen and contribute to the betterment of humanity.
Consider these Stellar Reflection Questions:
How would you like to expand your understanding as well as your reach?
In what ways would you like to experience more spaciousness?
What tools could help you further tap into a wider world view so that you can understand something that would allow you to have more context?
During this time, we may find ourselves pulled to both matters of the heart as well as larger realms in which we can discover the answers to bigger life questions. This feels also notably true given that a Venus/Pluto Conjunction is in the mix. We’re called to also burrow into our feelings when it comes to who we love and how to love. What’s rich and valuable takes on deeper meaning, and we may find that we may want to create secrets and/or reveal them.
Later this week, Mercury also stations retrograde. Remember that the days before and after its retrograde cycle begins, Mercury themes may pervade our collective consciousness. And so we may experience a stream of news flooding our minds and inbox, a wave of conversations that we want to have or those that others want to have with us, and/or that an array of inputs of information seems to be on the rise. Try to take pauses, and go slow as you take in, digest, and share information so you don’t make mistakes and/or find yourself stressed or anxious.
Here are some suggestions for making the most of Mercury Retrograde. Remember that it’s not “bad” – in fact, this three-week period can offer us a range of gifts of understanding as we can see things through a different lens. Do as the planet seems to be doing and retrace your steps, going back over communication activities to see if you can discover any missed steps and/or ways to enhance messages you’ve crafted or want to craft. There’s power in the pause during Mercury Retrograde; go slow, ruminate, turn to your intuition, and let time give you space for gathering insights not yet accessed. And don’t forget that treasures may be in your rearview mirror so turn to the past—whether via reconnecting with people or information—if you feel it will help you feel a sense of holistic presence or understanding.
If you’re feeling impatient during Mercury Retrograde, which oftentimes happens when we know we need to sit with something but also really want to take action at the moment, consider taking Impatiens flower essence. And if you’re finding yourself with crossed wires, with a block in finding the words to express the flurry of thoughts you may have, consider Cosmos flower essence. Mercury will be retrograde through February 20.
Note that all of the three Mercury Retrogrades this year occur in air signs. Between this and Jupiter and Saturn meeting up in Aquarius for the every-twenty-year Great Conjunction (and still in this sign), there’s a big focus upon the mental realms this year; it’s almost like we have these concentrated laboratory times—notably during these Mercury Retrograde periods—in which we can further think about how we think, learn more about how we learn, and communicate in extended ways that allow us to continue to learn about communication.
Have a lovely week!
