Astrological Insights: February 12 - 18, 2024

The invitation this week is to dive below, to take chthonic journeys to places that are deeper than we’re usually primed to go. There’s a pull to solve mysteries, to suss out secrets, and to exhume that which is buried. We may notice forceful invitations to reveal the shrouded and to go through a distillation process that separates the gratuitous from the integral, so that we can fully embrace that which has everlasting value.

We’d do well to survey the motivation behind our desires, to reveal the why that fuels our incentive for movement and pursuit. We may also feel compelled to survey the foundations of a relationship, seeing whether its base layers truly have the integrity that we need and value. As we plunge below, and unveil the depth of our feelings, we may see more clearly what love and passion really and truly mean to us.

It may be a week in which we see things that we can then not unsee. Some will end up being treasures, others will stir us deeply in a way that has us feel bereft when we see humanity’s shadows.

I share all of this as a reflection of this quite deeply stirring week, one in which Pluto, the planet of the underworld, makes a union with both action-oriented Mars and honor-your-values Venus.

I always find that when we are faced with moments in which we’re called to explore the substrata and confront entanglements, that instead of just waiting for potentially deep and stirring events to occur, that it’s powerful to embark upon activities that are centered around discovery and exposure. For example, weed your garden, scrub the kitchen floor, deep-clean a closet, do a mud mask and/or exfoliate your skin. Other options for probing below include taking an honest look at your finances, surveying old photos through a fresh lens, spending more time writing in your journal, focusing on your dreams to see what they are revealing and/or asking someone to truly clarify the what’s what of their actions.

This is also the last week of Aquarius season, with the Sun set to move into boundary-blurring, poetic, and mystically oriented Pisces on Sunday. Before it does, take advantage of the Aquarian inspirations that we have access to as you look to further understand patterns, take a systemic view of situations, appreciate the power of communities, and see further ways in which you can be part of a movement focused upon social progress.
