This week feels quite volcanic and explosive. Things looming below the surface or kept out of sight or what we may view to be quite ugly or unseemly continue to erupt. Power plays, the wresting of control, and the continued illuminated appearance of the shadow—whether personal or collective—may forge themes that capture our attention.

This is the week that many have had an eye on for quite some time now, given that there’s a one-two punch of the Jupiter/Pluto Conjunction (November 12) and Mars ending its retrograde cycle (November 13) followed by the Scorpio New Moon (November 15).

As you know the Jupiter/Pluto Conjunction was a strong marker of this year, with expansive Jupiter and dig-deep Pluto coming together numerous times: April 4, June 29, and later this week on November 12. With this happening on the heels of the every 30-plus-year Saturn/Pluto Conjunction (exact this past January 12), the landscape of our lives, individual and shared, has experienced a deconstruction. We’ve become more much connected to what is unassailable in life, notably because the experience/theme of death has become heightened in our consciousness. “Norms” and “the normal” have been dismantled as we find ourselves left questioning what it is that we truly find essential and believe to be true, and how we want to begin to reconstruct the architecture of structural frameworks in our lives and society.

And while this invitation is not limited to the days that this alignment is exact and will still span through our near future, that it is exact this week does augur our attention. And that it is just as Mars is stationing to turn direct (November 13) is quite something.

Remember that when a planet stations to either begin or end its retrograde cycle, what it represents appears to be very concentrated. And when that’s Mars, in Aries nonetheless, the themes of championing, fighting, marshalling one’s will, impatience, action, anger, and fast movement may be all the rage.

Go as slow as you can this week, being honest with yourself as to what is arising from deep within. See if you can hear the whispers of fears that have kept you back from owning your power. Consider what the things are that you’ve realized you want to fight for and pursue. All the while should this volcanic and explosive energy play out in our collective, be diligent and consciousness and connected to where you stand, remembering that you do have power and that you can control how you react and respond.

With Mars about to end its seemingly forever retrograde cycle (it’s been dancing backwards since September 9 but it feels like it has been doing so for interminably longer), the sense of stasis or frustration we may have felt about not being able to make progress may soon be in our rear-view mirror. If you’ve been feeling annoyed because you wanted to make headway on certain things but felt like you kept on flying right into headwinds that weren’t allowing for it…that too should begin to resolve.

As we start to tap into the ability to go forward with our visions, it’s important to be really clear and conscientious about just what it is we want to pursue and the most efficient pathways to do so. Where to find this clarity? Just look back to the past several months. See what you learned when things were delayed or stifled and how—even amongst some frustration—it may have carved out new awareness that has now allowed you to hone your aim, just what it is that you want to champion, how you can better do so, and where to source your courage so that you can move forward in the ways that truly light you up.

All that said, remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. While we are about to now move forward again, it’s important do so thoughtfully and not impatiently (rash movements this week may end up causing undesirable consequences).

Take all of this deep-dive awareness and let it feed your cognizance as to some changes you want to make and the transformation that you seek, and let that serves as the foundation of the seeds you plant for your Scorpio New Moon intentions on Sunday.

Dig into a sense of your passion and resourcefulness, beckon your bravery, and reconnect to a sense of possibility that comes from commitment, hard work, and knowing what ground you stand on. All the while, remember that we’re in a marathon and not a sprint, as you embrace yourself and your loved ones with kindness and care.
