What can I say that can help you find some comfort and wayfinding during this time? That’s the question that I’ve been thinking about for a few days now in light of the unfolding of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I hope that there’s something in what I share here that meets that aim. Know beyond that, that whether we’ve ever met in person, connected via social media or email, or haven’t yet communicated directly other than your reading my reflections, that I send you all my very best all the time and notably during this time.

Given the astrology, both of the larger moment as well as this week, it feels like we need to really bear down into the depth of our resources, finding the courage, fortitude, and love that streams deep within us. Conservation and restriction—two words associated with Capricorn, the sign in which the Saturn/Pluto Conjunction and Jupiter/Pluto Conjunction take place—feel like very strong themes, whether that’s economically or the absolutely necessary need for us all to stay home if we can to help flatten the curve.

Things may feel really intense and quite dizzying. I feel like some ways to find center involve turning to the Plutonian invitations so strong right now and having them help us to discover that which resides at the core, that which is fundamental, that which has indomitable significance for us.

I’ve also been using the Plutonian energy to look at the impulses and disquietude that is arising in me and seeing whether it’s ‘real’ or rather stemming from vestiges of my ingrained patterns, my own personal sh*t (speaking of sh*t as a theme, see this post). This has helped me to better conserve my emotional and energetic resources as I then can honor the the feelings that are based upon reality rather than also investing some of them in more unconscious patterns that pull me off center.

Also with Pluto, it brings up the notion of control and it seems that we are coming face to face with feeling that the control we have is limited. Much of this is out of our control, and yet not spinning out of control feels like something we can do to reign in our control. (Flower essences like those I shared here can be helpful. As can meditation; speaking of which, here’s a link to free online meditation classes that my dear friend, Dr. Brad Lichtenstein, is offering this week).

There was a photo I saw on Facebook which I posted to my page that touched on this. It said “When you can’t control what’s happening, challenge yourself to control the way you respond to what’s happening. That’s where the power is.”

As I’ve shared before, it does feel like one of Pluto’s invitations is to remind us that we don’t have as much control as we may think – and yet that where our control lies is that we do have choice, we can choose how we respond, we can express that response-ability. And so in that, know that not everything is out of your control.

We’re really seeing the interweaving of all of life and how we are all connected. And while this has some disquieting impacts (e.g., virus transmission, economics etc.), I’ve also seen—as I’m sure you have—how that also may have people opening up to a greater level of compassion not only for themselves but for those around them, those they know and those they don’t. In Seattle where I live there are so many people who are thinking outside of the box and banding together to create innovative solutions that can support their neighbors and the community. There’s a real heartfelt beauty that is also breaking through at the moment.

This week with Mars amplifying the Jupiter/Pluto Conjunction (the first of whose exact alignments is April 4), digging in and digging deep into everything may become even more potent. Finding unexposed treasures within ourselves (Pluto) may be a source for incredible learning (Jupiter).

With Saturn about to move into Aquarius (where it will be through July 1, before it returns for two-plus years beginning on December 17), we may really see the power of networks and how they hold the key for our flourishing. And how important it is that they are strong and have fundamental integrity.

All of this is having us see that our power arises through connectivity. I’ve written about this from the context of how Self-Care is rooted in We-Care, a shift that has us see how we need each other to have true well-being, something we are seeing very clearly write now. Last week, I also wrote about some of the other Saturn in Aquarius trends that we were already seeing (social distancing, online platforms for teaching and connecting, etc.); if you didn’t see that piece, you can find it here.

I could go on and on, yet I want to honor the theme I highlighted before—that of conservation—and find a natural resting spot to close. Perhaps that is to remind you that March 19 is the Equinox. May we find some comfort in its reminding us that the nature of nature is change, and that there is a cycle to everything, and that at some point all that we are experiencing will be behind us as we emerge with a deepening of love and connection to life, all living beings, and the world in which we live.

Take good care,

Stephanie
